The Fanio licence agreement

Version of 24 October 2026, in force from that day. This agreement applies to every scene, free or paid, bought alone or through a plan. The tier you hold decides which uses are open to you. It is published in Arabic and English, and both texts are equally authoritative.

1. Who this is between

This agreement is between Fanio, run by its owner as set out in section 1 of the terms of use and sale, and you, the person or company that downloads a free scene, buys a pack or takes a plan. You accept it by ticking the box at checkout, or by downloading a free scene. Your tier (Free, Standard or Extended) is shown on the scene page and on your receipt; a plan gives the tier it names for every pack it covers.

2. Words used here

  • Scene: one illustration or icon file from Fanio, in SVG or PNG, including any version you edit.
  • Pack: a set of scenes sold together: one character across many moments, or an icon set drawn in one style.
  • Plan: Personal, Team or Lifetime, which give access to every pack instead of one.
  • Account: a sign-in on Fanio used by one named person.
  • End Product: a larger work you make in which a scene is one part, such as a website, an app screen, a presentation, a document, a video, a post, an advertisement or a printed item.
  • Licensee: one person, or one company together with its employees and contractors, with up to 20 people using the scenes. Larger teams should write to support@fanio.net.

3. What you receive

A worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable and perpetual licence to use the scenes of your tier as this agreement allows. It does not run out with time; it ends only as section 9 says. Your clients and the users of your End Product may use that End Product, but you may not pass the scenes themselves to others or sublicense them. Every right this agreement does not grant stays with Fanio.

Each paid file you download carries an invisible mark unique to your licence: its shapes are moved by a fraction of a pixel. The mark does not change how the scene looks or what you may do with it; it lets Fanio tell which licence a copy found elsewhere came from.

4. The tiers and the plans

  • Fanio Free: the free scenes of each pack, with the same uses as Standard. No credit is required, though a credit line is welcome.
  • Fanio Standard: every scene in the pack, in any number of End Products for yourself and for your clients, including marketing, advertising, websites and apps. Not inside a product that you sell or give away as a design asset, template, theme or merchandise.
  • Fanio Extended: everything Standard allows, plus scenes inside products you sell or give away, such as templates, themes, merchandise, printed goods and apps. The scene must stay part of the product: its users may use the scene only within your product, and you must not offer the scene or the pack as a separate file, or as a collection that could replace buying from Fanio.
  • Personal plan: Standard for every pack, for one account, while the plan runs.
  • Team plan: Extended for every pack, for up to 5 accounts, while the plan runs.
  • Lifetime plan: Extended for every pack Fanio has published and will publish, for one account, for as long as Fanio runs the service and at least 5 years (section 5.2 of the terms).

Scenes you download while a plan runs stay licensed for good after it ends. Downloading new scenes needs a running plan.

5. Not allowed under any tier

  1. Sharing, selling, giving away or publishing the scenes as files, changed or not, including in an asset library, an icon or illustration set, a design-tool plugin or a stock site.
  2. Sharing an account, or letting more people use a plan than it covers.
  3. Using a scene, a character or a recognisable part of either as a logo, brand mark, trademark or trade dress, or registering it as one. The scenes are not exclusive, and other licensees use them too.
  4. Using scenes to train, fine-tune, test or build any artificial intelligence or machine-learning model, or to build a dataset for one, or giving them to an image generator as a reference to produce look-alike images.
  5. Removing or changing the provenance metadata (C2PA and XMP) in scene files you keep or pass to others. Metadata lost when a scene is placed inside an End Product, for example by export or optimisation, is not a breach.
  6. Using scenes in pornographic, defamatory, hateful or unlawful content, in content that offends religions or incites violence, in political campaign material, or in a way that suggests Fanio or its characters endorse you, a product, a cause or a person.
  7. Presenting the scenes as your own creation, or entering them in contests or registries as your work.
  8. Using a preview image of a paid scene (the small PNG captioned "Preview only. Not for commercial use.") in anything commercial, or in any End Product you publish or deliver. It is for judging the scene and trying it in an unpublished draft. Buying the pack gives you the licensed file.

6. How the scenes are made, and Fanio's rights

Every scene starts as a draft made with automated drawing software under a paid commercial licence. A person then selects it, corrects it, turns it into a clean vector file and arranges it into a pack, and each scene's page lists what was done. Copyright law in several countries, including the United States and the European Union, may not protect every part of an image produced by automated software. Fanio therefore grants this licence to the extent of the rights it holds: its rights in its human work under Syrian Legislative Decree No. 62 of 2013 on copyright and the equivalent laws of other countries, including the selection, correction and arrangement of each pack, its ownership of the files and of the names and characters of its packs, and this agreement as a binding contract between you and Fanio whatever the copyright position. Because the same kind of software can produce similar images for other people, Fanio does not promise that a scene is unique. You are responsible for any legal duty that applies to you to disclose how content was made.

7. Changes to this agreement

Fanio may change this agreement for purchases made after the change, and publishes each version here with its date. Everything you download under a purchase or plan paid before the change stays under the version in force when you paid; a free scene stays under the version in force when you downloaded it. Fanio may replace a scene with a corrected version; your licence covers both versions.

8. Warranty and liability

  1. Scenes are provided as described on their pages. Fanio warrants that each paid file opens in common software and matches its description; section 7 of the terms sets out how a faulty file is fixed, replaced or refunded.
  2. Fanio does not promise that a scene is free of every third-party right or fit for a particular purpose. If someone makes a valid claim against a scene, Fanio will replace it or, if it cannot, refund in USDT what you paid for it, and you must stop using that scene in new work; such a refund ends the licence for that scene only.
  3. You are responsible for using scenes within this licence, and you will compensate Fanio for losses caused by any use outside it.
  4. Fanio's total liability to you is limited to what you paid Fanio in the 12 months before the claim, and Fanio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or lost data.
  5. None of these limits applies to fraud or gross fault, which Syrian law never allows to be excluded, or to consumer rights that the law of your country does not allow to be excluded.

9. When the licence ends

The licence ends if you break this agreement and do not put the breach right within 14 days of Fanio's notice by email, or at once if the breach is a sharing or resale of the files under section 5.1. It also ends if Fanio refunds the payment for it. After a breach you must stop using the scenes and remove them from End Products you still control. After a refund you must stop using the scenes in new work, and End Products you published before the refund may stay as they are.

10. Law and contact

This agreement is governed by the law and courts set out in section 16 of the terms of use and sale. Questions about this licence: support@fanio.net.
